If you want to get grey-listed, you should take a look at these things:
Make yourself look good.
Use Microsoft word or something to check your grammar. I know it’s not the same as HAVING good grammar, but you’ve made an effort.
Be brief, but not too brief.
Don’t say stuff like: i lik vb + i is gud bilder + nic guy
But don’t waffle on either. Keep it to the point, but speak in proper, and formally. The admins have to go through hundreds of apps every day, they’re not gonna be in a good mood if they have to look through a 2,000 word application.
Pictures do increase your chance, but only upload 10 – 20 photos. Make sure they only have one focus and they show off detail. If you are going to post some pictures, here are some things you need to consider.
Am I using the Voxel Texture Pack? (It’s not essential, but it can help!)
Is my build square?
Is it realistic?
Why is it floating? (Please, if you ever do floating islands, give it some sort of reason)
Do not spam the forum if you don’t get in.
If you have had three tries, ask nicely if you can have one more chance. MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY! If you waste the Admins time over a square made purely of bricks, AGAIN, you’re gonna get banned.
Get others to review your app!
If you’re uncertain about the app, post a topic, and see what people say! (Make sure you post it in community critique!)

I have gone through all these things, so you don’t have to!
Don’t get involved in other people’s concerns.
If another guest is getting trolled, don’t think you’re big and tough by sticking up for him, you’ll probably just get told off by the admins (and to be fair, you’ll just be getting in the way) unless you are a helper+.
Don’t “review” other guest’s builds.
They’ll probably just complain you’re not experienced or argue with you. Then people will give them sympathy and get annoyed with you for reviewing their build. Give your OPINION by all means, but don’t give a full scale review. In the end, you’ll just look like a plain asshat.
Don’t spam the chat.
The Voxel Box is very strict with the chat. In this example, Ridge Dog is spamming.
RIDGEDOG: heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey guys
BELLAMY_BROTHERS: hi Ridge
RIDGEDOG: I AM VERY VERY ANGRY, AHHH!
KUPOKUPO: Why u so serious?
RIDGEDOG: ANGRY DOGEY! WHAAA! TANTRUM TIME!
RIDGEDOG: SO ANNOYED WTF
FEATHERBLADE: Ridge, stop spamming
RIDGEDOG was gagged by _BRENT for: spamming
Getting gagged.
If you ever get gagged, shut the F*** up, don’t talk until the dust settles.
Swearing.
Although swearing is allowed, keep it to a minimum and do this: S***
You will get banned if you swear too much without blacking out the word.
White-List review.
Get a helper to give your build the go-ahead before consulting an admin. Don’t react badly to feedback and don’t spam the admins.
Capitals.
Don’t do all cap sentences EITHER.
