While browsing the Voxel Box wiki, I came up with a custom-map idea. In Portal 2 Co-Op, you play the role of two robots going through tests. At the end of each test chamber. your character is disassembled and taken through a tube, sending you to the next test. I realized that you can use the give command to spawn in Ender Portal blocks- not the frame, but the actual portal. So, you would go into a tube, where a piston is pushed up when you flip a lever, sending you through an End portal on the roof, where you spawn in the End and are led to another Ender portal, leading you to the next chamber. Would this work? Right now I'm thinking of the mechanics and how the 'portals' will work. Possibly you use portals for fast travel across and through test chambers- you have to carefully choose how many blocks away to place your next portal to get to the correct spot. Does anyone think this is a good idea? Or maybe you are trying to get to a certain end area- you have to go through portals to get there. Possibly there could be a plugin or mod that sets your spawn at where you point your mouse- I am pretty sure when you exit the End via the Enderdragon portal, you respawn or 'wake up' at your spawnpoint. Then, there would have to be some way to bypass the cutscene every time you leave the End. So, I am open to criticism and ideas. Feel free to put these mechanics into your own maps and creations- I would like to try them, and see my theory in action.

If making something like this, wouldn't it be 100 thousand million times easier with VoxelPort or other some plugin?

Being an adventure map maker, I have done this sort of thing. And it's tedious work my friend. I got 25% done on this in about 2 months. I am officially saying that, without help, you won't make it. I advise assembling a team before doing this.

Turns out Vechs came out with this idea a while ago, and while watching his video it sparked something in my mind. It does, indeed, make you respawn at your spawnpoint. So, you could use block 36 (?) (NOTE: MIGHT NOT WORK after I think about it, because right clicking on it to place blocks would break the block 36) and place beds. Or, you would have to place it on an alcove and you'd pop off into lava or even back to where you last were (?) (Also a work in progress thought) Except, I think the 'set spawn where you're pointing' thing would be better, except you could use /spawn (unless it's a SinglePlayer map in which the robot disassemblers would be the elevators in Portal 1) to get there instead, unless you disable the /spawn command. It'd probably use the distance mechanics with the block placement system— if you can reach it and place or break a block you can set your spawn- except you can shoot portals an infinite distance in the original game. So, it would be better to have a—

OH SNAP! I remember someone (Regular Hexahedron, now that I think about it) making a device that can change your spawn point. So, you could suffocate in a block it pushes into your spawnpoint, or send gravel or sand into the room, and you'd spawn above it in the next chamber. It'd work good with the portal mod, but the portal mechanics I was thinking about could do good too.

Anyone think this is an idea worth improving? And Krossbowkitty, now that I think about it, it would be very good to have a team. So, if you would like to, would you join my team and/or possibly share your progress on what you did?

Okay, now that I think about it even more, and while watching Vechs' video on the recall portal kit, it would work kind of like the retries in the video game, "I Am Alive". You'd respawn at your original spawnpoint somehow (Using the "Your Home Bed is Missing or Obstructed" thing when your bed breaks or is obstructed) and you'd have to place a portal as a "Retry" to go back to your bed (it'd remove the obstruction when you come back to the spawn via a monostable circuit or some other kind of redstone wiring (?) (Actually, I'm thinking more like an inverted pressure plate connected to an RS nor latch or T flip flop (T flip flop would be good) with a falling edge trigger (It's inverted) or just a regular T flip flop.) So, anyone want to improve? :D
