EVERYONE starts somewhere. Some of the best builders (imo) on the server now started out with Greek bath houses and glorified boxes hanging off cliffs.

This is actually hard to believe considering that 2 helpers approved my build including you, and when I had it actually reviewed, it was denied horribly, and I was crushed. And now, supposedly a "chunk error" ruined it. But the fucked up thing is, only my build was deleted in it, and the hole didn't match chunk qualities. A lot of this is too much opinion.

Daggerbrent- Move forward. I went through 6 Whitelist builds and 2 months of guest work. I finally got it. Keep working, and don't give up.

This is the reason you should get TONS of different opinions. Opinions from helpers, non helpers, lite snipers, snipers, curators, EVERYONE. get as many people to come look at your build and give suggestions as possible. youll get plenty of great advice, and youll also get plenty of contradicting advice. Just take in what you can. you dont have to use every single bit of advice people give you, but even if you dont use it, youll have it in your memory and maybe on your next build youll go "Oh yeah so and so told me this, so maybe ill try it".

There is also tons of good reference material on the internet. If youre having trouble with a certain feature, go online and google it. Look at some pictures and get an idea. Just remember that just because someone said your build was good enough doesnt mean that the next person will.

Mutton is right. I got about 10 different people to have a look at a build I was confident with, and it almost got white-listed! Just the floor-plan and colour-flow Bellamy said. I spent a good 5 days getting tons of people to look at my build, and it just very nearly worked!

To daggerbrent: your build was accidently flat oceanted by voxelsniper because Someone tp'd someone at a very bad time. Don't get me wrong your build was good but it was a bit of a small sample of what I think you could have presented. In a short sense build either a couple builds together like a street or just something larger instead of a donut shop with a typical McDonald's interior. Build a donut factory next to it and it will work son.

Wow. I haven't applied yet, but I'm feeling depressed... I thought I was pretty good, but looking at the server tours, I suck... Horribly... Dang... Any encouraging tips?

I'm a new guy, and I have no idea of what to build and to what standard. It's nice to see a post like this, shows that noobs such as myself can do stuff. I'd love to see this stuff though, I need to know what to build.

I feel your pain. I just applied .. and the harshness is what draws me here as well as scares the bejezuz out of me. After reading through everything about this "realm" it makes me want to join that much more as well as scare me into thinking I wont even get to be a guest.

Well you never know unless you try. Good luck with your greylist application, hopefully we'll see you on the server soon =] I've been a member for over 9 months now and have had a great time, it's worth all the hard work to get in. Be patient and keep trying.

Read the "Guest Zones" article on the wiki. Plenty of info on where it is, and what you have to do. Also don't forget to check out the Whitelist Grading Rubric. T'will help you know what is expected of your build.
